Mission Family: Résumé tool helps spouses highlight experience | Marine Corps Times | marinecorpstimes.com

Here’s a great tool for spouses on the  job hunt. Volunteer Coordinators on Installations always tout that your Volunteer works “counts”. Well, I am here to say it does and I am proof. My volunteer work with Army Community Services as an instructor then allowed me to go to further training to become a Master Trainer and then onto Department of the Army Core Instructor. I became an instructor on how to be an instructor. When it came time to apply for a paying job, that experience and know-how all played a part in my being hired to be an instructor at a University, granted I had a Masters Degree but the combination of degree and experience is what made the difference. This free tool will help translate your experiences into skills that employers are looking for and need. The 21st Century job skills that employers keep saying are missing are flexibility, adaptability, problem solving, team work…well if that doesn’t describe most MilSpouses I am not sure what does. Give it a look.  Mission Family: Résumé tool helps spouses highlight experience | Marine Corps Times | marinecorpstimes.com.
